Whereas, irrefutable social science research supports the fact that traditional marriage is the time-tested foundation of a strong society, providing the best environment for the raising and rearing of children, thus benefiting society as a whole; and,
Whereas, for more than a decade same-sex “marriage” proponents have actively worked to radically change and redefine marriage by destroying its fundamental character as the union of a man and a woman, and,
Whereas, marriage continues to be threatened here in New Jersey as a result of the New Jersey Supreme Court’s action, and despite the fact that the NJ Legislature granted same-sex couples “the same benefits and protections as spouses in marriage,” it has not stopped same-sex “marriage”, proponents from advocating radical redefinition of marriage;
I, therefore, by signing this electronic petition, do hereby urge you to support, as my state representative, a State Constitutional Amendment, defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman only, so that at the General Election I will have the opportunity to vote and NJ citizens be given the ability to “Let The People Decide” to maintain the very definition of marriage.
By clicking on the CONTINUE button you will be given the opportunity to electronically communicate, by the click of one button, with the following elected representatives: your two state assembly persons, your state senator, the members of the Senate and Assembly Judiciary committees (who would most likely hold the hearings for the State Constitutional Amendment), the Senate President, the Assembly Speaker (who have the ultimate power to release the bill for a hearing) and the majority and minority leaders in the state legislature from both political parties in New Jersey. In addition the Governor’s office will receive an electronic communiqué.
